A ship transporting cement ran aground off Trincomalee today.
The Navy said that the Bulk Carrier sailing under the Liberian flag sent out a distress call in the waters near Little Basses Reef on the south-east coast of Sri Lanka.
The Sri Lanka Navy dispatched two craft to assist the distressed cargo ship.
