Consultant Physician Dr. Senaka Pilipitiya, the chairman of the specialist committee appointed by the ministry of health to review Ayurvedic and traditional medicine for COVID-19 has issued a special press release clarifying recent medical reports about Dhammika Bandara’s alleged Covid cure.
In his statement Doctor Pilipitya has stated that the indigenous syrup invented by Dhammika Bandara from Kegalle as an alleged cure for Covid-19 has only received approval for further testing and not to use as a medicine.
He has stressed that this concoction cannot be treated as a medicine until a full clinical trial has been conducted with regard to the efficacy and safety of this concoction.
