The Sri Lanka-China friendship National Nephrology Hospital is set to open for public within few days, fulfilling a long time requirement for many kidney patients around the country.
Built in close proximity to the Polonnaruwa General Hospital, it is considered the largest kidney hospital in South Asia.
The construction of this hospital commenced after the ceremonial cornerstone laying by the former President Maithripala Sirisena on the 21st of July 2018.
The National Nephrology Hospital has a capacity of 204 beds. It consists of 100 Dialysis machines, operation theaters specializing in kidney transplants, latest laboratories and other modern technologies.
