Cyclonic storm Burevi has shown a slight change in its current path heading towards Sri Lanka, the Meteorology Department said.
The storm which was predicted to make landfall near Trincomalee this evening is now seen heading towards a possible landfall near Mullaitivu.

The Met Department said strong winds and heavy rains are expected in the North and Eastern Provinces as a result of the storm.
The public have been requested to remain vigilant and take safety precautions.
The Disaster Management Centre said over 50 Evacuation Centers have been set up in every district identified as those that could be affected by Cyclone Burevi. (NewsWire)
