Ninety-four (94) deaths have been reported so far during the ‘second wave’ of the coronavirus in Sri Lanka.
The National Operations Centre for the Prevention of COVID-19 (NOCPC) said the total number of deaths reported due to COVID-19 since the outbreak in March this year increased to 107 by yesterday.
Among the deceased, 40 deaths are reported to be individuals above the age of 71, which is 42.55%.
Twenty (20) deaths are of individuals between the ages of 61- 70 (21.27%), while 16 deaths are of those aged between 51- 60 (17.02%), and 11 deaths are of individuals between the ages of 41- 50 (11.70%).
The NOCPC said that 4 deaths have been reported between the ages of 31- 40 (4.25%) and 3 deaths are between the ages of 10- 30, which is 3.19%. (NewsWire)
