Female Parliamentarians have strongly opposed the 15% tax on sanitary napkins proposed by the Government in its budget for 2021.
Calling it the “Menses tax”, Samagi Jana Balawegaya MP Rohini Kavirathne and former SJB MP Diana Gamage raised their objections in this regard in Parliament today.
Meanwhile, Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP) MP Geetha Kumarasinghe said that the only important thing for women and school children in the country is national security. (NewsWire)
