A new program will be launched to issue vehicle licences and registered number plates via post, Minister Dilum Amunugama said.
Minister Amunugama further said motorists will not be required to hand over their old number plates to the Department of Motor Traffic in the future.
The law required for a change in number plates during the sale of vehicles between two Provinces will too be removed, and replaced with a new program, he said.
