Premalal Jayasekara, who was sentenced to death over a shooting incident in Kahawatte in 2015, has said he has been sentenced to prison over a crime he did not commit.
Jayasekara made the comment in Parliament, after being sworn-in as a member of Parliament today.
“I have won all elections conducted from 2001 to 2020. There are attempts to remove me from politics and take political vengeance. I have no blood or dirt on my hands. The people of Ratnapura have faith in me’, he said. (NewsWire)
