The Telecommunications Regulatory Commission of Sri Laka (TRCSL) is working to introduce the number portability facility.
The TRCSL said the number portability facility enables consumers to switch to service providers of their choice without having to change their existing numbers.
Preliminary steps to implement the number portability facility have already been taken by the TRCSL, it added.
The number portability facility already exists in countries such as India and Malaysia. (Newswire)
