“Communities were separated in the name of reconciliation by Yahapalanaya”

The previous government established a Ministry of National Integration & Reconciliation, millions were spent on workshops held in luxury hotels but there was no good outcome from it, alleged Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa speaking at a SLPP rally in Ampara yesterday.

“This only created a division among all communities in the country. Businesses of the Muslim community collapsed and conflicts in various areas of the country arose but were later swept under the carpet. However, we stepped forward and allayed the suspicions and fears of the public.” said Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa.

“The previous government stated that they spent millions on reconciliation. However, the responsibilities on building reconciliation of that government were not fulfilled to the public.” he added. (NewsWire)
