UNP Kaluthara district candidate Palitha Thevarapperuma has been hospitalized after he was allegedly assaulted by a group at Wekandala in Mathugama.
He was allegedly assaualted by a group over a dispute with regard to a water project, the Police said.
The former MP has been admitted to the Nagoda Hospital with injuries to his leg.
