100 million $ loan from India to implement Solar Power Projects in Sri Lanka

The Indian government has agreed to provide a $ 100 million loan facility to implement Solar power projects in Sri Lanka.

The funds will be provided through Export-Import Bank of India (EXIM Bank).

Cabinet approval was given to implement the project with priority to install solar power systems on the roofs of government buildingsĀ  and to provide solar power systems to selected low income households in the Trincomalee, Moneragala, Anuradhapura and Hambantota Districts.
