Sri Lanka’s President Ranil Wickremesinghe has carved out exceptions to the ongoing vehicle import ban, authorizing select ministries and state agencies to bring in a handful of new vehicles.
Among the beneficiaries are the Ministry of Labor and Foreign Employment, which will receive a brand new SUV. The Ministry of Health will be bolstered with 21 double-cab pickup trucks, likely meant for field operations.
Education, too, gets a boost with two new buses for its fleet. Notably, the national carrier SriLankan Airlines will be able to import three “economy class ramp coaches,” hinting at potential fleet expansion or upgrades. (NewsWire)
