A 55-year-old man from Rajagiriya has been arrested on charges of financial misappropriation of Rs. 136 million, after fraudulently selling a land located at Cotta Road, Borella.
The suspect has been arrested by the commercial crimes investigation unit of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) on Friday (10) following investigations carried out regarding the selling of above mentioned 87.5 perch land using a forged deed.
After being produced before the Hultsdorf No.2 magistrate, the suspect has been released on bail. The CID is conducting further investigations. (NewsWire)
