Vouchers worth Rs. 3000 will be given to nearly 800,000 school students to buy shoes, Minister of Education Susil Premajayantha said.
According to an Education Ministry statement, the Minister said that the vouchers will be distributed in the next two to three weeks.
He further stated that this allowance would be given to children with economic difficulties.
It will be further increased in the next year (2024), Minister Premajayantha added.
The Education Minister also revealed that several changes to the school system will be implemented from next year.
