An incident has been reported from the Ayagama Police division on Saturday night (5) where a car has been stolen after reportedly drugging the driver of the vehicle.
Police say that investigations have revealed that a man from Kolonnawa area has been drugged in this manner, who has been working as a cab driver for a taxi service company.
Initial investigations have revealed that 2 people have hired a cab from Kadawatha area and have travelled to Tea Janapadaya area in Ayagama and have forced the driver to consume some sort of a yogurt drink.
Following that, the suspects have threatened the driver with a weapon and taken the car along with two mobile phones and a wallet.
Ayagama Police are conducting further investigations to apprehend the suspects (NewsWire)
