The Overall Rate of Inflation, as measured by the National Consumer Price Index (NCPI), increased to 6.5% in January 2024.
According to the Department of Census and Statistics, this was an increase compared to the 4.2% recorded in December 2023.
Meanwhile, food inflation also increased to 4.1% in January from the 1.6% reported in December last year.
Non-food inflation has also increased to 8.5% in January 2024 compared to the 6.3% recorded in December 2023.
