Two individuals have been arrested with 43 counterfeit Rs. 5000 notes in Alawathugoda, Kandy.
The Police stated that the suspects were arrested following a raid conducted yesterday (19) based on a tip-off.
Preliminary investigations have revealed that one suspect who owned a photo studio in the area had utilized the computer and printer at the studio to print the fake currency notes.
The suspects have been identified as residents of Alawathugoda aged 36 and 41 years.
The Criminal Investigations Department (CID) has taken over the probe into the incident. (NewsWire)
