AKD tables controversial Yugadanavi agreement in Parliament

A copy of the controversial Yugadanavi agreement was tabled in Parliament today by Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) Leader Anura Kumara Dissanayake.

MP said that he tabled the agreement since the Government failed to do so despite many requests.

MP alleged that although the Government said the deal was signed with US based New Fortress Energy company, according to the documents it has been signed with a company named NFE Sri Lanka Power Holding.

Several cases have been filed in the Supreme Court against the government’s decision to transfer 40% of the Kerawalapitiya Yugadanavi power plant to an American company. (NewsWire)
