Ancient artifacts have been stolen from the Sithulpawwa sacred grounds located within the Yala National Park.
The Director-General of Archeology said treasure hunters are reported to have damaged a historic structure of the mystical rock and cave temple complex.
He said one suspect has been arrested over the incident, while four others have escaped.
