Former United National Party MPs Navin Dissanayake and Arjuna Ranatunga have announced their intention to form a broad alliance with the members of other Opposition parties.
Addressing the media yesterday, the two former Parliamentarians called for a change in the leadership of the UNP and further expressed disappointment at the direction of the party.
The two former MPs also announced that they will field a common opposition candidate to contest the next Presidential election.
Recently, Navin Dissanayake stepped down as National Organiser of the UNP, while Arjuna Ranatunga refused to accept the post of Senior Vice Chairman of the party. (NewsWire)
