An investigation has been launched into a clash between a military officer in uniform and a group of civilians, Army Spokesman Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne said.
He said preliminary investigations into the incident have revealed that the clash had occurred due to an argument.
Stating that a complete investigation must be conducted into the incident, Brigadier Premaratne said necessary measures will be taken in this regard and forwarded to the relevant authorities to take action.
He said constant attention is focused on the discipline of all military personnel at all times.
Brigadier Nilantha Premaratne said disciplinary action will be taken against personnel violating the code of conduct of the military. (NewsWire)
