Army nabs suspect with explosives in Jaffna – Defence Ministry

Army troops in Jaffna yesterday (May 28) nabbed a suspect with a haul of explosives, including a powerful claymore bomb buried in his fishing jetty area in Nagar Kovil, Jaffna.

The Army said military intelligence troops following information received raided the place and arrested the person suspected to be an ex-Sea Tiger together with the claymore bomb (two kilos), 14 rounds of T-56 ammunition, 45 pistol rounds, one round of 12.7 ammunition and a two-metre long detonator thread.

The suspect with explosives was handed over to the Jaffna Police Terrorist Investigation Unit for onward investigations, the Army also said. (Defense.lk)
