Farmers across Sri Lanka are facing a severe crisis due to a shortage of chemical fertilizers and agricultural chemical products in the country, Tamil National Alliance (TNA) MP M.A. Sumanthiran said.
MP Sumanthiran has visited his ancestral farmland in Kandavalai in Kilinochchi to begin cultivation for the Maha cultivation season which has commenced.
The MP had toiled and planted seeds at his farmland in a bid to highlight the issues faced by farmers due to a lack of fertilizers.
TNA MP Sumanthiran, sharing his experience, stated that he will continue to raise his voice in favour of the farming community. (NewsWire)
