Minister Sarath Weerasekara has instructed to interdict officers from Paliyagoda police station who were involved in the alleged assault of the law student inside the police station.
He has also instructed the Inspector General to conduct an investigation to this incident where the said law student was assaulted when he came to visit a person who was arrested by the Paliyagoda Police.
The minister of Public Security also stressed that this kind of assaults inside police stations are not at all acceptable.
The victim is said to be the son of prominent lawyer Maithri Gunaratne PC. He is currently receiving treatment at the Ragama Hospital. ( NewsWire)
