Babar Azam’s father reveals why his son chose to play LPL

Pakistan national cricket team skipper Babar Azam chose to play in the Lanka Premier League (LPL) with an aim to prepare for the upcoming Asia Cup and World Cup, the cricketer’s father Azam Siddiqui revealed via a post on social media.

As per Siddiqui’s statement, the cricketer had been offered the same amount of pay for 10 days of play in the Canadian League and 25 days of play for the Colombo League.

“Keeping in mind that the Asia Cup match against Afghanistan may be held in Sri Lanka and similar field in the upcoming Cricket World Cup, I advised Babar Azam to play in the LPL as the difficult wicket experience will be useful for the upcoming tournaments,” Azam Siddiqui explained. (NewsWire)
