Bangladesh has confirmed a US$ 2.3 million worth of donation of essential medicines to Sri Lanka, Health Minister Prof. Channa Jayasumana said today.
Minister Jayasumana said that the donation of essential medicines consisted of 56 types of essential medicines.
He further said that the token handover ceremony will be held in Dhaka, Bangladesh today.
In March, Sri Lanka requested another US$ 250 million as a currency swap from Bangladesh.
This was in addition to the previous US$ 250 million that was offered by the Bangladesh Bank (BB), of which the bank had extended the repayment period. (NewsWire)
