Sri Lankan artist Bathiya Jayakodi, who recently recovered from Covid-19, has revealed how he faced the ordeal.
Speaking to Lahiru Mudalige of Hari TV, Bathiya Jayakodi said on April 30th he was informed that he had attended a meeting in which a Covid infected individual had also participated.
He said despite taking two PCR tests until the 7th of May, which had returned as negative, he had developed a cough.
As the cough had worsened, he was hospitalised, after which he had developed breathing difficulties, Bathiya revealed.
The singer said during his 10-day stay in hospital, he was on a ventilator for 6- 7 days.
“After being diagnosed with Covid pneumonia, only doctors came to visit me as I was in a separate room and alone. The Doctors were worried for 4 days as the infection had affected my lungs.” he said.
Bathiya Jayakodi said he was revealing details of his ordeal to the public, as this was a serious issue and he wanted the people to be careful.
“I lost 5kg and now I feel a little weak. I hope it will be fine in a few weeks. I have now restarted my work,” he said.
Bathiya also said that he was unable to obtain the coronavirus vaccine due to work commitments, admitting it was something he should not have delayed. (NewsWire)
