The Police have arrested a couple from Mattakkuliya in connection to the Sapugaskanda murder.
The body of 45 year old Mohamed Safiq Fathima was found in a travelling bag at a garbage dump in Sapugaskanda two days ago.
The Police said that on October 28th the deceased woman had left the house in a three-wheeler with a couple.
According to the Police, on November 1st, the husband of Mohamed Fathima Safiq had lodged a complaint with the Police over her disappearance claiming that the mother of two had been missing since October 28th.
The Police had also taken into custody a lorry which they believe was used by the suspects to transport the body.
The Police said the deceased woman was a moneylender in the Maligawatta area. (NewsWire)
