A family is continuing its search 17-years after their child, Hiruni, had gone missing in the Tsunami disaster that had occurred in December 2004.
In a video message, the mother of the child revealed that they had been travelling in a train towards Hikkaduwa when the waves had struck the trian near Thelwatte.
The woman revealed that three eye witnesses had informed that the child had survived the disaster and had been seen by them, while a man had also confirmed that he had rescued the child from a tree.
Meanwhile, the child’s sister has stated that the eye witnesses had come forward and informed them a month after the disaster had taken place.
Appealing to the public, the sister of the missing child has called on anyone with information to inform them as their search for Hiruni still continues. (NewsWire)
