A brawl broke out between the Chairman and Opposition members of the Horowpathana Pradeshiya Sabha during the monthly meeting held last morning.
The Chairman of the UNP-led Horowpathana Pradeshiya Sabha Charuka Udayanga Wijeratne has filed a complaint claiming that he had sustained injuries after being assaulted by three members from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.
Charuka Udayanga Wijeratne was initially admitted to the Horowpathana hospital and was later transferred to the Anuradhapura Teaching Hospital.
He has claimed that the Opposition Leader of the Pradeshiya Sabha had assaulted him when sharing views during the discussions held on five important subjects, including the coronavirus situation in the area.
