An unidentified individual has opened fire at a vehicle showroom situated on the Ampara- Kalmunai main road early this morning.
The Ampara Police said the suspect had opened fire with an automatic weapon around 3.00 a.m. today.
CCTV footage shows the man, who had concealed the weapon in a fertilizer bag, shooting at the vehicle showroom and later fleeing the area.
The cause for the attack and details of the suspect are yet to be obtained, while the Ampara Police has commenced further investigations into the incident.
According to Ada Derana, the glass wall at the entrance of the showroom has completely shattered, while a car and lorry that were placed on display have been damaged due to gunshots. (NewsWire)
