A mother and her daughter have been injured and hospitalized following an accident which took place in the Kurunegala-Dambulla main road.
The police said that the car which caused the accident has fled the scene. The accident took place yesterday (17) when a car traveling towards Dambulla knocked a motorcycle which was also traveling on the same direction.
Kurunegala police are conducting further investigations, while a special team has been deployed to apprehend the driver of the hit and run car. The condition of the daughter who sustained injuries is reported to be critical.
