Four incidents of chain snatching have been reported in four Police areas in the 24-hour period ending at 06 am today.
The Police said the robberies were reported in the Vavuniya, Jaffna, Arachchikattuwa, and Warakagoda Police areas.
Meanwhile, the Kelaniya Division Crimes Unit has arrested four suspects in connection to various robberies, including chain snatching.
The suspects who are residents of Madapatha, Kirulapone, and Peliyagoda have been identified as those addicted to drugs.
They are reported to have carried out the crimes in order to acquire narcotics.
The Police have recovered 15 sovereign of gold jewelry and other stolen goods from the suspects’ possession.Â
