The Ministry of Energy has announced changes to the fuel distribution dates based on the last digit of the vehicle number plate.
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera said that the changes to the last digit of the number plate for fueling will be effective islandwide from Thursday, the 21st of July.
He further said the number plate system will be implemented as follows:
- 0,1,2 – Tuesday & Saturday
- 3,4,5 – Thursday & Sunday
- 6,7,8,9 – Monday, Wednesday & Friday
Minister Kanchana Wijesekera also stated that the QR Code issued under the National Fuel Pass program will be tested at multiple locations in Colombo from the 21st to the 24th of July.
Stating that nearly 2 million people have registered with the QR code by 4.00 pm today, he said registration will continue.
The pilot project will be conducted in multiple locations in Colombo from the 21st of July along with the last digit of the number plate for QR Quota.
He added that the QR program will be implemented islandwide from Monday, the 25th of July. (NewsWire)
