Chinese Steel Giant Baowu is looking at the possibility of a billion-dollar investment in Hambantota.
The Sri Lankan Embassy in China said Ambassador of Sri Lanka to China, Dr.Palitha Kohona visited the Baowu Steel conglomerate offices in Ma’anshan, Anhui recently.
The Embassy further said that during the visit Dr. Kohona met with the company’s senior management to discuss investment potential in Sri Lanka.
Baowu Steel will prepare a feasibility study on making a substantial investment in Hambanthota, the Sri Lankan Embassy added. (NewsWire)
