The Church of Ceylon has called on the Government to address serious human rights concerns in Sri Lanka in its message for Human Rights Day 2020, which was commemorated on Tuesday (08).
The Dioceses of Colombo and Kurunegala highlighted the plights of Human Rights activist and lawyer Hejaaz Hizbulla and former Director of the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Senior Superintendent of Police Shani Abeysekera.
The Church of Ceylon further urged the Government to address the human rights concerns raised against the two individuals as a matter of urgency. (NewsWire)
