The Government Medical Officers’ Association (GMOA) has suggested the public who return to their hometowns in the festival season, to try and extract coconut oil using traditional ways.
In a Facebook post, the GMOA has suggested this as a measure to protect the families from consuming imported coconut oil contaminated with cancer causing substances.
The post also suggests to teach the younger generation the traditional methods of coconut oil extraction in villages.
