The Government will commence administering the COVID-19 vaccine to a selected group of the public from today.
Army Commander General Shavendra Silva said people from the Western Province will be vaccinated first under the programme.
He said the group to be vaccinated have been identified as those who interact closely with the public and those facing high risks of infection.
