A shopping complex under the purview of the Negombo Municipal Council has been temporarily closed following the detection of COVID-19 patients.
The Public Health Inspector of the area S.D.L. Wasantha said a businessman, owning a retail textile shop at the complex, and his wife have tested positive for coronavirus.
Wasantha further said that PCR tests are being conducted on other vendors at the shopping complex.
Contact tracing is underway to ascertain the close associates of the businessman and his wife.
The PHI officer said that the source of transmission is yet to be uncovered.
The businessman, who is a resident of Kimbulapitiya, Katana, is reported to have attended a wedding in Divulapitiya recently. (NewsWire)
