Former MP Udaya Gammanpila today apologized for his statement where he claimed that International Cricket Council has provided a grant to build the proposed Homagama International Cricket stadium.
“I unconditionally apologize for stating that the proposed cricket ground would be financed by a grant from @ICC having relied on the information given by Minister Bandula Gunawardena.” Former MP Udaya Gammanpila tweeted.
International Cricket Council says it didn’t sanction any loan or fund to construct a cricket stadium in Sri Lanka.
Speaking to News1st, an ICC spokesman said that the ICC did not sanction any loan for the construction of a cricket stadium in Sri Lanka.
