A dance teacher has been arrested in the Western Province on charges of sexually abusing a 17-year-old boy.
Chairman of the National Child Protection Authority (NCPA) Professor Muditha Vidhanapathirane said the suspect was arrested based on a complaint filed in this regard.
The teenager is reported to have faced severe mental trauma due to the incident which had taken place in the latter part of 2019.
The incident is reported to have taken place during practice for a dancing event held at a playground in the night.
The 42-year-old suspect is said to have lured the teenager in the guise of buying dinner after practice.
The man had then offered the boy a drink spiked with drugs and had thereafter sexually molested him while he was unconscious. (Newswire)
