Sri Lanka cricketer Dasun Shanaka is set to embark on a multi-transit journey to reach the Caribbean to participate in the on-going tour of the West Indies.
Shanaka, who was appointed as the Twenty-20 Captain for the series, missed his chance to leave with the National team due a technical issue with his transit Visa to the United States of America.
As the matter is yet to be resolved, Shanaka has been provided with an alternative flying plan, which consists of three transits.
Dasun Shanaka will depart from Colombo on Sunday and will travel to Dubai, Paris, St. Matin and will eventually land in Antigua.
It is questionable as to why the cricketer is not using the most frequently used flight path from Colombo- London- Antigua.
The Sri Lankan cricketer will miss the Twenty- 20 series, and will most likely feature in the One Day International (ODI) series if he reaches the Caribbean on time.
He is expected to be available for selection from the second ODI of the West Indies series.
Sri Lanka are currently in the West Indies participating in the tour consisting of 2 Tests, 3 ODIs and 3 T20Is. (NewsWire)
