The Police are attempting to trace the source of the gun used for the alleged suicide at Independence Square in Colombo yesterday.
Police investigators are looking for the person who sold the pistol to the alleged suicide victim, 3 Police teams are deployed in this regard, a senior police official told NewsWire.
Victim identified as Rajeewa Jayaweera had written a letter stating that he purchased the gun for Rs 151,500.
The letter also claimed that the pistol used for the alleged suicide was purchased and that it was tested once by him before being used for the alleged suicide.
Meanwhile the funeral of Rajeewa Jayaweera was held today at Borella Cemetery.
