“Deaths increased by 28%” State Minister gives update on current Covid situation

The Government will take a decision on the islandwide travel restriction currently imposed in Sri Lanka after analysing the data pertaining to the coronavirus that has been acquired until the 14th of June, State Minister Dr. Sudharshini Fernandopulle said.

Speaking to reporters following a visit to the Gampaha District Hospital today, she said a decision on whether to extend or relax the travel restriction will be drawn after reviewing the data.

Dr. Fernandopulle further said however, a slight increase in Covid patients and a 28% increase in the deaths due to the virus have been observed at present, in comparison to last week. (NewsWire)
