The decision to relocate several GCE Advanced Level classes of the Devi Balika Vidyalaya to the Wijerama Maha Vidyalaya in Gangodawila, Nugegoda has been revoked.
However, the Government has decided to introduce English mediums for all subjects from primary to GCE Advanced Level at the Wijerama Maha Vidyalaya.
The Education Ministry said a committee has been appointed to explore the feasibility to implement a pilot project at the school.
Meanwhile, the Ministry said it will consider alternatives to develop the GCE Advanced Level classes at the Devi Balika Vidyalaya.
Earlier, the administration and Old Girls Association of Devi Balika Vidyalaya protested the decision to relocate several of the school’s Advanced Level classes to Wijerama Maha Vidyalaya in Nugegoda. (NewsWire)
