A 44-year-old Sri Lankan man, Lakshman Thilakaratne, was reportedly shot in Kuwait on January 10th while working as a food delivery driver, Ada Derana reported.
Thilakaratne, who has lived in Kuwait for eight years and has two young daughters, sustained serious injuries to his abdomen after the customer he was delivering to opened fire over a delay in receiving his order.
Thilakaratne claims the customer provided inaccurate location information, causing him to go to the wrong address initially. Despite the delay, the customer reacted violently upon Thilakaratne’s arrival.
Thilakaratne, after being shot, managed to drive himself to the hospital with the help of an acquaintance. He is now seeking justice for the attack and wishes to return to Sri Lanka to be with his family.
