Development projects in Colombo are to be expedited following instructions issued by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
A meeting in this regard headed by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa was held at the Presidential Secretariat yesterday.
Officials from the Urban Development Authority and Secretaries and heads of the relevant Ministries and departments attended the meeting.
The President advised the officials to look at investors as opposed to seeking loans to carry out the development projects.
He also noted the importance of ensuring all projects fall in line with local policies.
The President also instructed the relevant officials to commence the development projects of the Colombo Port West and East terminals.
The President also directed the officials to start all projects and construction of large buildings in the Colombo city and adjacent areas which have been stopped due to various reasons after having discussion with the relevant parties
