The Private Bus Owners’ Association says that bus services will be restricted from tomorrow (28) due to the shortage of fuel.
Its chairman Gemunu Wijeratne says that a revised timetable prioritizing essential times have been already handed over to relevant authorities.
“There is not enough diesel for our regular buses. Some fuel stations do not have fuel. The IOC has increased the price. Therefore, we can not get fuel from them. Due to this we have decided reduce the number of trips and to give priority to engage buses during office hours and to cancel certain trips” he said.
Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) Kingsley Ranawaka stated that the fuel shortage will not affect the operation of SLTB buses. (NewsWire)
