Dinesh Karthik has criticized the exploitation of loopholes in the IPL auction system by foreign players, deeming it “unhealthy.”
In a Cricbuzz video, he suggested a solution, proposing that players entering the mini auction should be limited to the highest-paid player’s salary in the team, with any excess amount returned to the BCCI. Karthik believes this measure would bring some level of fairness and sanity to the process.
“The mini auction is definitely used by players and agents very clearly, where they bring them on into the mini-auction and they go for absurd, unheard of prices, knowing that the teams are coming with a lot of money and have some holes to fill, and hence the price skyrockets.” He added. (NewsWire)
